Welcome to Findback, the lost and found platform designed exclusively for the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Central Punjab (UCP). Your privacy is critically important to us.

When you register and use Findback, we collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Your full name, email address, and phone number. This is required to create a verified account and allow secure communication.
• Post Data: Information you provide when posting a found item, including descriptions, locations within the UCP campus, and images of the items.
• Communication Data: Messages sent through our in-app chat system when claiming an item.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data strictly for the operation and improvement of the Findback platform:

• To facilitate the return of lost items by connecting finders with those who have lost their belongings.
• To verify identities to prevent fraudulent claims.
• To send you important notifications regarding your posts, tags, or messages.
• To maintain the security and integrity of the platform for all UCP members.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Your information is only shared in the following circumstances:

• With Other Users: When a claim is initiated, the finder and the seeker will be able to communicate via our secure in-app chat. Your phone number is visible on your profile to facilitate quicker returns, but we encourage using the in-app chat for initial contact.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or in response to a valid request by law enforcement authorities within Pakistan.

4. Data Security

We implement robust security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. We utilize secure authentication providers and encrypted database connections. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Your Rights

As a user of Findback, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request the deletion of your account and associated data. (Please note that deleting your account will remove your active posts and claims).

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. We will notify users of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
